Milestones:
R-man enjoys sitting up and reaching for things. He especially loves pulling his sister’s hair.
Little-C is beginning to use full sentences. If we turn around to look at her in the car, she’ll say, “Turn around Mommy/Daddy” and if you ask if she needs help, she’ll respond with, “No Mommy, I got it.” I sometimes wonder where my little girl went.
Favorite Things:
Little-C
- Reading: Her favorites books include: Elmo, Clifford the Big Red Dog (or red, red dog as she calls it), and anything farm related. She also knows what most farm animals say in her 100 animal’s book!
- Singing: Loves to sing these songs: – Hickory Dickory Dock, ABCs (she can sing them all by herself), Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star (she can also sing this by herself), Baa, Baa Black Sheep, Row, Row, Row your boat, Itsy Bitsy Spider and Bumble Bee. Sometimes she’ll be singing a song so Dave and I have to YouTube to figure out what song it is.
- Toys: She absolutely loves to play with her dolls. She loves putting them to bed, in the high-chair to eat, R-man’s swing and in the doll baby carrier. She’ll be a good mommy someday the way she talks with the babies.
- Shopping: She absolutely loves to go shopping, especially using the mini-carts at Hy-Vee.
- Dance Class: She absolutely loves Tuesday nights when she gets to go to dance class. It’s only 30 minutes but we enjoy every minute. It’s a Mom/Tot class so I get to enjoy the fun with her.
- Being outside: She absolutely loves playing outside, no matter how cold it is.
- Baking: She loves to bake and taste the dough! Cookies are probably her favorite thing to help bake. She even knows how to turn on/off the hand held mixer.

- Reaching for things: He loves to see what he can reach for especially his sisters hair. He is also getting really great at picking up the puffs we put on his tray. Basically, anything within reach goes into his mouth.
- Toys: He loves to play with the Mega Bloks piano, Sophie (the giraffe), balls, Johnny Jumper, exersaucer and balloons.
- Shopping: He loves to sit in the cart and watch everything around him. He usually has a smile from ear to ear as we stroll through the aisles.
- Bath: He absolutely loving taking a bath. He loves that he can sit up and suck on the rag (I think it’s gross but once you take it away he gets upset). He also loves laying down and kicking his feet as hard as he can. Water is usually everywhere but oh well, he’s having a good time.
- Being outside: He loves being outside and looking around if we go for a walk.

Least Favorite Things:
Little-C
- The vacuum: Hates it! Every time it starts up she jumps in the recliner or on the couch. I bought her a toy vacuum hoping this would make her less scared but it didn't work.
- Getting up for daycare: She has been staying up until almost 9:00 as it’s a nightmare to get her to go to sleep any earlier. Once it’s time to get up, we’ll turn on the lights and say, C it’s time to get up. She’ll respond with, “No Mommy/Daddy, I’m tired.”
- Going to bed at nights: He often times fights sleep! Little-C will say, R-man fighting sleep. Gosh, it’s crazy how much her little brain absorbs when you say something once!
- Food: Bananas (he hates them)
Little-C
- Naps: A two hour nap at daycare in the afternoon after lunch.
- At Night: Sleeps from about 9:00 pm – 6:30 am when we take her up. She will sometimes wake up during the middle of the night. We have realized that she’s a fish at nights and often times sleeps with her bottom in the air (it doesn't look comfortable but whatever).
- Naps: Take several short names usually 30 minutes – 1 hour at daycare.
- At Night: Sleeps from about 8:30 pm – 6:00 am. He will sometime wake up during the middle of the night and want to eat but if we feed him a few ounces he goes back to sleep.
Our happy little guy! |
R-man
- Had a mild case of hand, foot and mouth for the second time. Unfortunately, this happened when Dave was in KC for a conference so I was home with him for a few days.
