Easter Weekend Wrap Up

This past weekend was great as we were able to spend quality time with both sides of the family. On Saturday, we thought we would wake up early and get on the road so we could get home early to help on the farm. Well, the kids had a different idea and they slept until 7:30, so Dave and I enjoyed a little extra sleep as well. This put us a little behind once we got everything packed up so we arrived at my parents shortly around 11:30.

After a delicious lunch, my Mom hid eggs for the grand-kids. Since there are 7 of them, she makes each one of them look a certain color of eggs. Little-C had "pink and purple" eggs to search for. She only hid 8 eggs for each grandchild but the older kids had their eggs hidden a bit harder. After everyone found all of their eggs they were given a box of food items for Easter. This year Little-C and R-man received goldfish, applesauce to go, mini club crackers, nutter butters and lil' crunchies. Needlessness, the grand-kids always love to receive their box of goodies!

Little-C hunting for her eggs.
Little-C almost has all of her eggs.

As if hunting for eggs wasn't enough, the kids even enjoyed a few rides on the 4-wheeler. When I was giving Little-C a ride she kept saying..."faster Mommy."  Hopefully this isn't how she feels once she get's older.
After the egg hunt, we attempted to get a photo of my parents with all the grand-kids. It's extremely difficult to get a photo of all of them looking so this is the best attempt. I know, only my kid would have her finger by her nose and not look at the camera.

Little-C also enjoyed driving the tractor with her cousin D.  Little-C thought it was a bit sunny so she enjoyed sporting her new ISU (aka: bird) hat.

The day wouldn't have been complete without a photo of cousin B with R-man. They are exactly 5-months apart. It's amazing how much bigger R-man looks.

After we spent the day at my parents, we headed to Dave's parents for the evening. We got up bright and early and went to church. After church, we hung out until it was lunch time. Little-C of course enjoyed another Easter basket. After we ate a delicious lunch, we packed up to head home. The Easter bunny still had to stop at our house, we had to go grocery shopping and make R-man's food.

Once we arrived home, I took the kids grocery shopping so Dave could tidy up the house and the Easter bunny could pack the items in their baskets. A few of their items were too big to fit into the baskets but little-C and R-man seemed to love everything.
