Here’s a quick update from this past month.
R-man is 11 months
Little-C is 2 1/2
Stats:
Weight:
- R-man is almost 21 lbs.
- Little-C is 30.4 lbs.
R-man has 5 teeth, but the sixth one is working it's way through.
Little-C goes to the dentist for the first time on July 6. We've been working with her on her flossing and brushing skills in hopes that the check-up goes smoothly.
Clothes:
R-man – He is wearing 12-18 months clothes now. We love to dress him in his plaid shorts and Nike outfits! He even has Nike shoes but he's not interested in standing so we haven't put them on him much.
Little-C – She is wearing 3T clothes. We are thankful for shorts with adjustable waists because we often have to tighten them up for her to be able to wear them.
Favorite Foods: R-man loves eating the following foods:
- Green beans
- Watermelon
- Noodles
- Cherrios
- Oreos
- Bread
- Pancakes (he can devour a whole one of these himself)
- Eggs (he must get this from his Dad)
- Chocolate (of any kind - he can't get enough)
- Freeze pops (he just begs for more and can eat a whole one of these himself)
- Club crackers
Milestones:
R-man
- Scoots where he needs to go.
- Beginning to pull himself up to things. He only goes on his knees but sometimes ventures to one foot!
- Say's "no" occasionally. Little-C thinks this is super funny!
- Shakes his head no: I'm not sure he knows what it means yet, but that day is coming.
- Screams: He's found his lungs and screams to the top of them at every chance he can get.
- Plays catch: If you toss him a ball, he'll throw it back to you.
- Holds sippy cup: He holds his bottle and sippy cup when he wants to.
Little-C has many milestones but they seem to be with more attitude these days. I've been told that 3 is worse than 2 -- not sure I'm ready for that.
- Sings new songs almost everyday. Below are new ones that she's been singing:
- Days of the week, Sunday/Monday, Tuesday/Wednesday, Thursday/Friday and Saturday
- Humpty dumpty
- Months of the year
- Row, Row, Row your boat
- Alice the camel
- Stomp your feet, clap your hands, say hooray
- Helps clean up the table after dinner
- Will help take care of her brother and entertain him when we ask.
- Feeds R-man snacks: If we give her snacks and we tell her to share with her brother, she does.
- Miss Independent: She's determined to climb in the car and get in her seat herself. And if you try to help her, she'll say, "I do it" and will hop all the way out of the car so she can do it by herself.
- Pedaling her bike: She can pedal her bike that her uncle Randy got her.

R-man
- Hugging: Every morning he wakes up and we go in his room, he puts his hands around our neck and gives us a hug. I love it!
- Bounce house: We purchased a bounce house before I headed to Washington D.C. for a work meeting and he loves it.
- Balls: He loves them and loves playing catch.
- Tractor and train: We have a small ridable toy that is in the house and he loves to ride on them.
- Playing in the storage container cabinet: He enjoys seeing how many Rubbermaid containers he can get out of the cabinet before I put them away.
- Bath time: He loves playing in the bath and splashing. A few times he has attempted to put his face in the water but quickly realizes he doesn't like it.
- His kangaroo: I got him a stuffed kangaroo for his 9-month photos. We've been putting it in his crib and when he wakes up in the morning he'll talk to the kangaroo and give it hugs.
- Snuggling with Mommy before bed: He is certainly a Mommy's boy because he'd rather snuggle with Mommy than his Daddy. Plus, he loves playing with my hair when he's tired.

Loving bath time |
- Bounce house: She can play in the bounce house for quite a long time, especially when her friends come over to play in it.
- Going to the park: She loves the park and enjoys challenging herself with new things each time. To assure we aren't there all night, we always have to tell her you only have five more times to go down the slide. If you couldn't down and when those five times are up, you tell her it's time to go, she's ready to go home.
- Vacuuming: She used to hate the vacuum but lately when I get it out she'll grab her little one and vacuum right along side me. And if I sit it up to do something else, she'll set hers right beside mine.
- Playing with her iPad: We got her a mini iPad for Christmas and she loves it. It's a great travel companion when we go home to visit our parents.
- Riding on the 4-wheeler: When we go back to my parents farm, we take her on the 4-wheeler but she doesn't want to get off.
- Jewelry: She absolutely loves to put on my jewelry. This could be troublesome when she gets older.
- My high heals: Not sure what it is but she loves to put on my high heals and trot around the house.
- Bubbles: She absolutely loves blowing bubbles outside.
- Snuggling with Daddy before bed: As she's getting ready for bed, she loves snuggling with Dave. Yes, she's certainly a Daddy's girl.

Worst Things:
Little-C
- Getting ready for bed: She hates to get ready for bed if she's not ready.
- Taking a bath: Lately she doesn't mind taking a bath but once in a while she'll tinkle in the tub, even though we sit her on the potty before going into the water. One would think she was in trouble because she'll grab all of her toys, put them away and frantically jump out. Then she'll say, "get my Ryan out" because he is usually taking a bath with her.
- Naughty chair: I bought a chair that has a timer affixed to it. When she get's into trouble we put her on the chair and start the timer. I think the timer freaks her out. If she's doing something naughty, we ask, do you want to go into your naughty chair and she quickly replies with, "no."
- Keeping her helmet on: She used to love her helmet but lately she'll take it off halfway through the ride.
- Bugs: She completely hates bugs and if one is on her slide or in her bounce house, she freaks out.

- R-man goes down before between 7:30 and 8.
- Little-C usually goes down between 8 and 8:30. We'll read her books in hopes that she winds down but that doesn't always happen. On the weekends, we allow her to stay up later.
- R-man had another infection so was put on an antibiotic. His ENT gave him ear plugs to use anytime when he's in water. Typically, the ear plugs only help one kid a year, but hopefully he's that one kid. I'm tired of ear infections.
- He also must have had a stomach bug because I was home sick with him for a couple days due to vomiting and diarrhea.
- Little-C seems to be a good bill of health!
They are adorable Janet!
