On Sunday, we attended the 8:30 mass at OLIH. We instructed each of the kids that they need to behave if they wanted to go to the zoo after mass. Little-C was an angel, but not R-man. He's a typical boy who can't stay confined to a small area and be quiet for 1-hour. He threw colors in the aisle and screamed. We had a long talk once we got into the car and headed home. He's a typical boy who has more energy than I do!
They both begged to see the giraffe's and lion's so off we went to the Blank Park Zoo. We stopped by the first exhibit to see the frogs. Little-C kept saying they were dead because they didn't move.
Our next adventure was a trip across the bridge. It was pretty wobbly so R-man wasn't sure what to think about it.
Getting both kids to look at the camera for a photo, is nearly impossible! Not sure how professional photographers always capture such glowing little smiles.
They both were curious what was happening outside of the egg.
It's amazing the difference a year can make in their height. See last year's blog post for the same kangaroo photo with Little-C.
Each year they get taller and taller! |
The highlight of their day was feeding the giraffe's. It cost $5 for 4 lettuce leafs, but it was worth it. Little-C was kind of scared at first. She let her brother feed the giraffe first to assure it was safe. R-man got right up there and it didn't phase him. Yup, he's totally all boy!
Any animal he can feed, he does. R-man was picking up the leaves off the ground and feeding them to the cows. They ate them!
The best photo we could get. He wanted to hug the seal!
They both loved playing the drums. I'm glad we don't have a set of these in our house!
They couldn't wait to go for a train ride, but too bad it wasn't longer. It may have put them both to sleep. Again, notice how everyone is smiling below, but Little-C doesn't care to smile at the camera. It got her giggling afterwards.
They both love riding the carousel, but we waited until the end of the day to ride it. R-man of course wanted to go for another ride after it stopped.
On Sunday evening, I went to the Y to workout and the kids helped Dad make pizza. Or should I say, Little-C did and R-man just enjoyed eating the pepperoni's.
I can't let Dave's hard work go unnoticed! He is building a closet in our storage room for our linens. He's got it all framed, dry walled and the first coat of mud. Hopefully it's finished by the end of the week. I am fortunate he knows how to do all of this because it saves us a ton of money. When I married this guy 12-years ago, I had no idea he could do all of these things, but I'm lucky!
