Weekend Wrap Up (Cyclones football game) - 10/2/15-10/4/15

This weekend was awesome and we finally cheered the Cyclones onto a win! We started Friday evening off a little relaxed with delivering Pampered Chef items to the neighbors. The kids loved pulling up to the neighbors driveway and ringing the doorbell. One wasn't home during the delivery so we'll be taking another spin tomorrow evening.
I also made chili at 6 a.m. and Dave put it in the crackpot around noon. He took the week off to finish some projects around the house. The chili was delicious, but maybe too many banana peppers. We were both sweating after one bowl!
Chili with some cheese and sour cream - delicious!
On Saturday, we woke up early and headed to Ames to attend our first football game of the season. We picked a good one because they WON! The kids had a great time tailgating, at the game and celebrating the win afterwards. I was surprised that the kids managed to keep themselves entertained for about 2 1/2 hours before we went into the game.
Learning how to play washers - I think she might have Dave talked into making one.
Teach them at a young age and they'll love tailgating when they get older.
The best smile I could get all day.
It warmed up and the older kids didn't have a coat so he didn't want one either.
Loving playing frisbee.
The best photo we could get by the Alumni Center.
He was all worried about how cold CY's hands were.
The didn't eat too much during our tailgate, but I thought no problem because I have snacks for the game. Well, we didn't hide them good enough in our bag because once the security guards saw my entire gallon bag of snacks, I had to throw it away. No outside food inside the stadium.

We attempted to get a photo with CY as we walked into the game. This was the best one we could get.

They had a fantastic time at the game and enjoyed cheering and dancing. Little-C especially loved when they sang, "Sweet Caroline." She is always amazed that the song has her name in it!

Cheering on the cyclones!
R-man had a fabulous time eating his popcorn and chilled gummy bears. He was getting bored and tired towards the 4th quarter and dumped out the remaining popcorn and looked at me to see if he was going to get into trouble. He is such a little boy!
Almost a smile for Little-C
Little-C (3 1/2 yrs.) and Me (35 yrs.)
He attempted to stay awake as long as he could, but finally during the middle of the 4th quarter he caved and fell asleep. He was super heavy to carry out of the game, but he didn't wake up once.
After the game, we headed back to our friends tailgate to enjoy some food before we headed back out. R-man stayed awake the entire time and actually slept about 1/2 hour at the tailgate. We put down a few blankets and bundled him up!
Little-C had a great time with friends and wants to do it again. Not sure they'll get back to another football game, but hopefully we can make it to some basketball games this winter.
Little-C with her new tailgate friend!
On Sunday, we were busy making apple pies to freeze for the holiday's! I tried a lattice crust and it was actually very easy to make. We had friends over as well and enjoyed a nice adult chat! Those are few and far between these days, but I wouldn't trade my kids for anything!
My lattice crust!
