Our son is 2 - Where did the time go?

A week ago, we had R-man's 2nd birthday party. Dave and I are seriously wondering where the last two years went. I can remember when I was pregnant with him and wondering when he was going to arrive after my due date came and went!

His actual birthday was July 30. We celebrated by getting his photos taken in the morning by Kari Bruck Photography, and then donuts at Main Street Cafe & Bakery because they both smiled good.

R-man's 2nd birthday - his sister got a photo opportunity too!
In the evening, we bought a mini cake for him to celebrate on his actual birthday. I had a big cake planned for his actual party on Saturday, Aug. 1st since family was coming up.  He was excited about his cake and the thought of eating dinner when down the drain once he saw the blue frosting.
A little too much sugar. He didn't nap once he got to daycare. Ooops...
And she ate the entire donut.

So excited to blow out his candles, until he touched them.
Notice the blue wax on his fingers. He realized wax is hot when it's burning.
Celebrating his birthday by getting the mail with Dad.

On Saturday was his big day! I made my first fondant cake. Thanks to Pinterest for the idea.
My first fondant cake was a success!
R-man and C always enjoys when their uncle Randy comes to visit. Mostly because he's like a kid at heart. He get's right down to play with them and they were super excited to see how tall their tower went. At one point, C came up to me to ask if we had more block. Nope, one bag is all we have!

Once everyone arrived, we opened presents before lunch! I knew we'd be spending time outdoors after lunch and the kids wouldn't want to go back inside.
Loving his Woody from the Scott's. He wanted the tag off right away.
He can't get the paper off quick enough.
Big sister is always there to help!
Both absolutely love the Kinetic sand from Ray and Ben.
After they opened gifts, we went outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. We had squirt guns, and the giant slip 'n slide. I went to Menards and bought a 35' x 20' heavy duty tarp. We folded it in half and staked it in the ground. Everyone loved it, including the adults.
C loving the slip 'n slide.
Ben enjoying the slide! Especially when we added Dawn dish soap.
After everyone had a bit of fun in the water toys, Dave brought out R-man's gift we got him - a John Deere Gator. It is a favorite, including with his big sister! He can't quite drive it yet, but she doesn't mind chauffeuring him around.
His sister is always taking him for a spin.
A special thanks to all of our family for coming to take part in R-man's 2nd birthday! Here's to another year of fun filled moments, with a kid in the terrible 2's.
