True Cyclone Fans

Dave and I both attended Iowa State University (ISU) and are dedicated Cyclone fans when it comes to sporting events. We are proud season football ticket holders and we certainly hope this season is better than last year. Little-C went to her first football game when she was about 9 months. She was mobile at the time so sitting idle for a period of time wasn't in the cards. I watched most of the game from the hillside, which wasn't all that enjoyable. Hopefully she enjoys it more this year.

Both kids have been to several ISU basketball games this year. Little-C is always searching for "bird" (aka: CY) and R-man is just in awe of all of the lights and action. Being able to watch the ISU men perform in several nail bitter games while taking in "Hilton Magic" has been awesome!

This past weekend Dave, little-C and I attended our first gymnastics meet at Hilton Coliseum in Ames.  It was the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series meet so I was extremely excited about. When we first walked into Hilton, Dave was hoping we'd take a seat near the top of the lower level so he could stretch out but I had a different idea. Since it was little-C's first gymnastics meet, I thought it was important that we sit down low so she could search for "bird" and see the women up close! Her eyes were glued on "bird" as soon as she saw him. We sat right in the third row, right in front of the floor exercise mat.

It's amazing how much smaller the floor mat actually looks in person. Little-C was hilarious when they performed because she was up dancing to the music and enjoyed when they did flips. She was extremely excited when we went down to meet "bird."  She had her photo taken with him and gave him five and when we were walking back she kept yelling at me, "give bird knuckles." We quickly turned around so she could give him knuckles.

Being able to show our kids the true ISU tradition that we know and love is great. We are both proud parents when little-C sees the Iowa State logo and says, "Cyclones."  We're raising her right!
