Weekend Wrap Up (6.5.15 - 6.7.15)

This past weekend was great, but I felt like we were go-go-go the entire weekend and our house was a bit neglected. We figure, it's the quality time that the kids will enjoy anyway when they get older.

On Saturday morning, we ventured over to Pleasant Hill for the annual kids fishing derby. The kids had a great time, but we should have dressed them a bit warmer because it was a bit cold with the wind blowing over the water. Unfortunately, the kids were bored to tears after about 30-minutes because they weren't catching any fish so they wanted to play on the swing-set until the raffle drawing. The kids got some great prizes at the raffle drawing. Little-C got a remote control truck and R-man got a family pack of tickets to the Blank Park Zoo.

R-man enjoyed the slide much more than fishing.

The remote control truck was a hit!
I think they love each other a bit! No, Little-C isn't choking R-man.
The kids were exhausted after being outside so thankfully they took a good nap. Later that evening we headed to church at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Ankeny. Overall the kids did well, but at one point father said, let's bow our heads and pray. Little-C blurts out loudly, "Father-son-holy-spirit-amen, blessed so lord in these our gifts." Everyone got a bit of a chuckle out of this, but at least everyone around us knows we say grace before every meal!

In the evening, I headed to Bravo to a bachelorette party! It was a great meal and fun to socialize about the upcoming wedding on July 4th. Dave and I can't wait to celebrate with Bridget and her soon to be husband, Matt.

On Sunday, the kids relaxed on the deck reading to their babies, and Little-C and I ran a few errands. I tried to convince Dave we needed to get R-man a John Deere Gator for his 2nd birthday! I'm still working on it and even his cute daughter couldn't convince him, yet!

We also bought the kids a new pool that they could use in the backyard. It was a hit and the kids enjoyed playing in the sprinkler. This is a good indication that it'll be a great summer.

Not so sure what to think to think of the sprinkler.
Little-C loves it and R-man isn't so sure yet.
