Here’s a quick update from this past month.
R-man is almost a toddler and can pull himself up to things faster than I can think. He can also walk very smoothly around furniture so it won't be long and he will be walking right along side his sister.
Age: R-man is almost a toddler and can pull himself up to things faster than I can think. He can also walk very smoothly around furniture so it won't be long and he will be walking right along side his sister.
R-man is 13 months
Little-C is 2 yrs. 8 months
Stats:
R-man is 23 lbs.
Little-C is 30.8 lbs.
The kids and their happy little attitudes before bedtime. |
R-man has 8 teeth. A few molars look like they are starting to work their way through and he chews on everything.
Little-C's teeth look great and she enjoys flossing and brushing her teeth every night before bed.
Clothes:
R-man – He is wearing 12-18 months clothes, but a few of this 12 months items are getting too small. We will soon be putting those away and moving up to the next size. This still seems unreal. I remember when I was holding him in his newborn gear. I often wonder why that first year goes by so fast. I wish I could just bottle it up.
Little-C – She is wearing 3T clothes and size 7-8 shoes. She is absolutely in love with shoes and loves the new ones we put on her.
Favorite foods this month: R-man loves eating the following foods:
- Noodles
- Corn on the cob - He loves holding it himself and eating.
- Turkey
- Cooked carrots
- Ice Cream
- Hot dogs - You have to cut them small.
- Milk - He absolutely loves drinking out of a big kid sippie cup.
- Cheetos
- Watermelon
- Cantaloupe
- Mac 'N Cheese
They both enjoy their table while I'm preparing dinner. |
He is quite excited about Cherry Berry too. |
- Watermelon
- Cantaloupe
- Tacos - As kid I'm not sure I liked these, but it's amazing how much she likes them.
- Pop tarts - She has one for breakfast every morning at daycare.
- Spaghetti O's - This may become her new favorite food while moving.
- Mac 'N Cheese - This is another one of her favorite foods
Loves ice cream at Cherry Berry. |
R-man:
- Pulls himself up to everything: He can pull himself up to anything faster than we can tell him no.
- Walks along furniture: He is extremely good about walking along things.
- Walks behind his push toys: He is very good at walking behind his push toys including his tractor and shopping cart.
- Books: He absolutely loves books and will take all of them out of his tote and look at most of the pages.
- Picks up toys: If Dave and I are picking up the toys, he'll help put the smaller ones away.
- Climbs up and down stairs: Will climb up the stairs rather quickly and usually turns around to see if you're watching. He will scoot down them, but wants your hands as guidance.
Our little climber. |
R-man:
- Say's Grandpa: Well it really sounds like "bampa," but he still says it.
- Uses sign language: Will sign "more" when he would like more food. Thanks to daycare for teaching him this!
- Say's Uh Oh: He says it pretty darn clear and will usually say it after he tosses his juice on the floor.
- Blows kisses: It's so cute to watch him blow kisses. He does give real ones every now and then, but they are usually hard to come by.
- Points at everything: When he wants something he does this little uhhh, begging voice and points. Usually we aren't sure what he wants, but he'll quickly show you.
- Can point out eyes and nose on his kangaroo: We've tried teaching him some body parts to R-man using his stuffed kangaroo. He is able to point where his eyes and nose are. It seems as if they are a little sponge at this age so we're trying to teach each of them as much as we can while each of the kiddos are little.
Enjoying breakfast at Jethros. |
- Sings new songs almost everyday. Below are new ones that she's been singing:
- Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall...
- January, February, March, April, May, June...these are the months of the year, year, year
- Hickory, Dickory dock...
- Cares for her babies: It's quite hilarious to watch her take care of her babies. She'll cuddle them just like I do R-man. Usually she will talk to them when we aren't watching. She'll say, "baby why did you poop in your diaper, or baby, you do not tell me no, or that's not a good choice, baby." Sometimes Dave and I look at each other and just laugh. We have tried to capture it on video, but once she sees the phone, she quits.
- Has to do everything herself: It was like this last month, but her independence has grown. She has to get into her car seat herself, she has to crawl up into her booster herself, she has to turn her light on in her room by herself.
- Takes long showers: She refuses to take a bath anymore, but will take a 20 minute shower if we let her.
- Is 90% potty trained: We are almost there, but the #2 version still trips her up every now and then. Occasionally, when we go shopping we risk the big girl pants, but ask her several times if she has to go and she'll either answer "yes" or "no, I'm good." The night time accidents may be a little tougher to break.

R-man
- Books: He loves books. He has a tote of them in the living room, but his sister has some in his room and where ever he is at he'll pull them out and turn the pages.
- Balls: He loves balls of any shape. He has even learned how to toss and play catch!
- Cars & Tractors: He absolutely loves pushing them around and will even make the sounds with them. He must be a true boy because I keep wondering how he learned to make the sounds at 1-year!
- iPad: He loves looking at photos on the iPad and will even slide it from one photo to the next. He will probably know how to use the thing better than me when he's three.
- Slides: He absolutely loves them and wants to do down as many times as you'll allow. Usually we send him down the small ones so we can easily place him at the top.
They both love their books. |
Loving the slide. |
He just has so much fun! |
- Shopping: She absolutely loves going shopping. She doesn't really care if it's just for groceries or if it's new clothes for her. She does enjoy strolling down the toy isles though. If I tell her she can't have something, she'll say, "Maybe for my birthday." Not sure who taught her that!
- Going to the park: She loves going to the park and we've learned to count how many times she has left on the slide. If we don't count them down, we'd be there all night.
- Taking care of her brother: Right now our kitchen is not an open concept kitchen so I can't see what the kids are doing in the living room. If I ask Little-C to go take care of her brother while I make dinner she usually does it. Although, I have to check on them several times, otherwise she'll occasionally be sitting on him or pushing him over. The thing is, he doesn't say a peep when she does it.
- Gardening: She absolutely loves picking tomatoes, even when she does get tripped up in the cages. She'll probably hate me when she get's older for this photo.
- Her umbrella: She absolutely loves her umbrella and any sight of rain, she makes sure she takes it out.
Look Mom, I got a red one. |
Ummm, I think I'm stuck in the tomato cage. |
Loving her umbrella. |
- R-man goes down between 7:15 and 7:30.
- Little-C goes down around 8:00 and 8:30. Sometimes if she's wound up, it may be 9:00.
- Both regularly sleep through the night, but are early risers by 6 or 6:30 due to our daycare schedule.
- R-man had a slight version of hand, foot and mouth for the third time. He also had a slight ear infection, but his ear drops cleared it up quickly.
- Little-C also had a slight version of hand, foot and mouth. This was her third time as well. I'm hoping neither of them catch it again.
Glad that dishwasher drawer is strong! Love the pics of your kiddos. So adorable!
