Labor Day weekend was a busy, yet relaxing weekend with neighbors and friends. Friday night we spent it with good friends we have been friends with for years. I met them while teaching cycling classes at Accel Fitness, now Fitness World here in Ankeny.

On Saturday, we ventured up to Ames to tailgate with our friends. We used to have ISU tickets, but once the kids were born we gave them up. As bad as they have been the past few years, I can say I'm not too sad about that. Although, we do miss tailgating. The kids had a great time and the intermural sand volleyball courts kept them entertained.

After we left the tailgate, we barely got in the car and it was quiet! The nice weather wore them out. Too bad our drive home isn't longer than thirty minutes.
After we got home, we got dinner ready for friends that were coming over. It was a great evening and we enjoyed the beautiful weather.
On Sunday, the kids and I ran errands, but before we went to the store we had to stop by a co-worker's house to feeds her cats. The kids loved it, but Ryan was disappointed the cats didn't come close.

After we got home, we got things ready for our neighborhood block party. The kids enjoyed playing with their friends, seeing the firetruck and they were so disappointed the police didn't come. I told both of them they must have been busy.

What a fun weekend update! That's great that the fire department came to your neighborhood block party! Very neat.
