This weekend was spent recovering from this past week. Dave returned home on Tuesday from a work trip and I came home Thursday evening. We had some major laundry to get caught up on and some yard work.
On Friday evening, my brother Ray came up and brought an entire truck load of "good farm dirt." We are eager to have a garden at our new house so we wanted to build some garden boxes. As you'll see in the photos below, we only have one because we didn't have enough dirt. We'll have to wait until my brother can bring up another load.

The good black farm dirt! |
Thankfully the cold wet weather didn't
bother Dave and Ray because they did get one box built and filled with
dirt.

It's almost finished! |

It's finished with the top and it's even dried out a bit. |

On Sunday, we ran errands in Ames. We were just in time to enjoy lunch at
Hickory Park. Hickory Park had CY outside, but as you can see R-man was trying to find the quickest way down. He wasn't sure about him.

R-man can't wait for his food. |

Using whatever he can to get the last of his ranch dressing. |
What are you going to put in your garden boxes? (And, my kids are the same way about ranch...)
ReplyDeleteVal, I think we'll play tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, lettuce, spinach, zucchini and squash. We are going to have to build another one to fit everything in. It helps teach the kids where our food comes from! Plus, they enjoy picking the fresh produce, which is awesome. We have to can some tomato juice, stewed tomatoes, pickles and salsa this year!
